Quality

Leadership at home and abroad

The Stevenson & Writers approach to quality is very specific: your text is edited and proofread in separate processes before our proposed changes and/or translations are e-mailed to you.

We work to reflect your original text in our editing and translation and to provide clear, concise and error-free English copy.

We maintain our own Stevenson & Writers Style Guide, including specific guidelines for each client, which is regularly updated.

Generally, we recommend Canadian spelling over British or American; the Canadian mosaic lends itself nicely to your various international markets.

Liability

At Stevenson & Writers’ we are committed to providing you with the best English-language text possible according to the terms of the mandate and timeframe you give us.

We work to reflect your original text in our editing and translation and to provide clear, concise and error-free English copy. The content of your documents nonetheless remains your responsibility. In the event of errors in our text, we will work to correct them as quickly as possible. Please note that a style preference can be mistaken for an error. We are happy to accommodate you by adapting our text when you prefer a different choice of words or tone than that proposed in our original copy.

Confidentiality

At Stevenson & Writers we are responsible for protecting the confidentiality of information provided to us. Your confidence is essential to our success. For example, information about our clients is strictly confidential and divulged only with their consent.

We take suitable physical and electronic measures to ensure the protection of documents, and we prevent access to these documents through the use of appropriate means (shredding, archiving, etc.).

Our premises are monitored electronically to prevent break-ins.

Social Responsibility

We are committed to giving back to the community. Each year, we set aside roughly 1% of our annual sales for charitable donations, provided in-kind through a donation of our services. A number of community groups are chosen per year, each receiving translation or editing services. See information on our next call for proposals if this program is of interest to you.

Environment

At Stevenson & Writers, we believe environmental protection is an important value for current and future generations. We are sensitive to the impact of our actions on the environment, and work to reduce the negative side of that impact as much as possible, by continually improving our methods and use of resources.

Maintaining a green work space is important to us. Recycling the paper, cardboard and plastic that is used in the office is only part of our commitment to keeping green; we use washable tableware and flatware, energy-saving appliances and light bulbs, and green cleaning products. We also recycle our used printer cartridges. Similarly, the vast majority of our work is done electronically, with very little use of paper.

E-mail & Deliveries

Should you have confidential or extremely voluminous documents requiring special delivery treatment, USB or CD copies of your translations are available upon request (additional charges will apply).
